wHAT IS cAAI?
“Comprehensive Assessment of Accentedness & Intelligibility” (CAAI), is a published assessment battery for diagnosing accent- and dialect-related communication difficulties. [Copyright: Shah, 2007]
Since its release in 2007, the CAAI is the only available comprehensive, diagnostic, and quantitative assessment battery specifically designed to diagnose communication difficulties arising from cultural and linguistic differences.
Based on a strong theoretical premise of the CAAI Assessment Model (Shah, 2010), and having gone through stringent psychometric measures for standardization, this diagnostic battery is the leading test of choice used by university clinics all around the country in their training of graduate student clinicians in speech-language pathology.
